In 2015, Andy and Lindsey Lampard began the adventure of a lifetime when they fell in love with The Highfield House. Swapping their one-bedroom flat in South London for this vast, historic East Yorkshire home, they set out to create something truly special—a boutique hotel and restaurant built on design, family, and a deep love of hospitality.

Before relocating, the couple ran an international design practice in London, crafting restaurants, bars, and hotels across the globe. But they longed for a change: space to raise a family, creative freedom, and a new challenge they could shape as their own.

Andy reflects, “We wanted a family, we needed space—and we dreamt of something more personal. Then we found The Highfield. At first, it was just a beautiful home with great access to the North, but it soon became clear we had the chance to share something extraordinary.”

For Lindsey, The Highfield is also a homecoming. Having grown up in nearby Pocklington, she returned to her East Yorkshire roots—while Andy brings a touch of Birmingham charm to the mix. They met while working as interior designers in London, and their shared passion for spaces that bring people together has never left them.

Today, The Highfield is a true family affair. Andy and Lindsey have welcomed four children—Alban, Jonah, Hugo, and Lola—since making it their home, and both sets of parents play an active role in the life of the house. What began as a dream has become a thriving, award-winning destination—still full of heart, still run by the family who lives there.
